Start with the decision
A visually impressive model is not automatically an operating tool. Define the decision it should support: investigating a stand conflict, locating equipment, or understanding a terminal pressure point. Then identify the objects and signals needed for that decision.
Keep the first workflow focused. A model with clear asset identity and a reliable handful of signals is often easier to operate than one with many disconnected overlays.
Connect identity, location and state
The same physical asset can have different identifiers in different systems. Mapping those identifiers is essential if an operator is to move from a spatial object to a useful record.
Freshness matters as much as position. Teams should know where data comes from, how often it updates and how unavailable information is represented.
Close the operational loop
The useful outcome is an informed action, not another view. A twin should help an operator reach the flight, stand, equipment or support workflow that owns the issue.
Evaluate the whole path: locating the signal, understanding it, taking the next step and checking the result. That path is where the value of operational context becomes visible.
